Sony has been updating their line of all-in-one video conferencing systems which now includes the release of the PCS-TL30 targeting “executives” or small, impromptu conference room setup. It features a 1.3 megapixel camera with 3x zoom, echo-canceling directional mic, dual-speakers, RGB connector allowing it to double as your PC’s display, Memory Stick slot, and Ethernet all integrated into the 17-inch XGA LCD monitor. As to some of the tech grit: MPEG-4 AAC audio encoding, H.264 video, that sweet sweet SIP, QoS support to keep things running, and compliance with UPnP allowing it to play-nice with other UPnP networked devices. Sure it’s meant for the office, but you execs can passively-aggressively coax your IT department into installing it at your Hampton’s retreat for a mere $2,500 green. Come on big boy, you deserve it… feel the power.
