Yet, there is still no comprehensive anti-discrimination
legislation on the grounds of sexual orientation in Hong Kong, and even the
system here is not accepting lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT)! Schools
still teach pupils that only one types of families exist. In the real world, there
are different families, which of course includes LGBT families! Evidence
indicates individuals who identify as LGBT are especially susceptible to
socioeconomic disadvantages. A lack of acceptance and fear of persecution can
lead many LGBT youth to leave their homes and lost about their future. Many
LGBT youth may also be rejected by their family of origin or caregivers and
forced to leave the home as minors. The consequences of youth homelessness have
many implications for the socioeconomic status of LGBT youth. We need LGBT
friendly technology companies here in Hong Kong to help LGBT community.

In fact, not just Hong Kong, but in many Asia countries,
LGBT are still not been accepted, most of the news just covers the bad news of
gays! This is one of the reasons why we need a LGBT website in Asia! So, I
launched my new website 852hk.com on 20th May 2020. The website
talks about handsome, talented cute guys, LGBT news, and provide Boy’s Love
benefits. Besides, the website also be able to
use technology to promote and improve the LGBT development in Hong Kong!

Brands and advertising agencies have switched their focus on influencers and have put a great deal of KOL marketing strategies into their marketing mix, but how much engagement do these KOLs actually inspire?

Social media platforms analytic company Social Power developed a KOL-analysis tool “Kolyzer” using big data and algorithms. The company said it has worked with Hong Kong 4As advertising agencies and brands like Swatch Group, TUMI, AMOREPACIFIC, in a bid to help them identify the right brand ambassadors.

It said most of the time brands or agencies tend to choose popular KOLs based on fan base to boost the awareness of their products. However, the performance of those KOLs may not be good as predicted.

According to one of the KOL Analyzer, the top 10 Facebook KOLs in Hong Kong are,in no particular order:

One of the worst parts about growing up, apart from being absolutely on your own, is that you lose friends, all of them, one by one. No matter how thick you may be with them, the moment you step into adult life, all of them disappear. This is probably why.

Priorities change. As you grow up, you tend to spend more and more time at work. You no longer have time to meet friends, friends who once meant the world to you. It's only later in life that you realize life is incomplete without them, but it's already too late.

We often forget that friendships can't always be effortless. Making friends is easy, but keeping them is the hard part. Hanging out with them in college seemed easy because it was convenient. But as life moves on, we give up on friendships, we give up too easy. The friendship fades away and we accept it, instead of fighting it, because that's so much more convenient.

Sometimes, it's love that ruins friendships. When one of the two friends enters into a relationship, friendships are often forgotten. They may realize it later but things are never the same. We've all been there and done that too.

Our 20s are a tough time. We're all trying to prove something to ourselves and the world. Some people get lucky; some have to struggle a lot more. When the two people who started from the same point find themselves at crossroads, insecurity creeps in. You're happy that they're more successful, except that you're really not. You soon start drifting away because their presence in your life only makes you feel more miserable. Sometimes, it's your own insecurity and other times, the circumstance is a b*tch.

The support and confidence our families cannot give us, we seek in our friendships. Our friends know us the best, don't they? But a lot times, even your friends don't support your life decisions. And that's the reason why it becomes hard to be around them when their judgments become too sour and unforgiving. There's nothing worse than a friend who bails out on you.

With some friends, you feel like you're the only one making all the efforts. So, you let it go, because you don't want to be ‘the clingy friend', forgetting no relationship in this world is equal, that one person will always have to put in more efforts than the other. And nobody wants to be that person. We'd rather lose them than be the more involved one. Damn our egos!

Some friends are great to have. But they're also toxic. There comes a point in life where you finally realize what a bad influence they are on you. And you decide you're better off without them.

It becomes difficult for a lot of people to cope with the fact that their friends have made new friends. Being replaced is a terrible feeling, but it happens and it happens to the best of us. The more possessive we become, the more bitter it gets.

Sometimes, you just grow apart. The things you bonded over once don't exist in your life anymore. You're a changed person and so are they. Sometimes, you meet a friend after a long while and realize they haven't grown up even one bit. The conversation becomes painfully forced and that's the moment you know, the friendship's kinda over.

It's funny how we just cut off from our dearest friends and years later, when we're going through old pictures on Facebook, we sit there wondering what really went wrong. It was probably a small argument. You brushed it under the carpet, they never talked about it too and slowly, the friendship died a slow death. Our non confrontational attitude, our habit of not talking about conflicts when it's important, sometimes, costs us our best of friends.

Online food delivery companies foodpanda and Deliveroo plan to continue to expand their coverage of Hong Kong neighbourhoods, as tighter funding hits the on-demand food industry in overseas markets.

Deliveroo, which operates in 12 countries, is focusing its efforts in on the customer. In May 2016, the company started offering ordering services in Hong Kong in Chinese and released the Android version of its app.

Deliveroo targets the premium market, while foodpanda has a wider remit, which Bauer said allows it caters to the varied tastes of Hong Kong residents.

If you think the Dental Surgeons in Jardine House should be professional? that's totally WRONG!! On Saturday 13 June, 2015, I was planning to polish my teeth; My teeth was fine before, no pain, but their dental surgeon Dr. Yung Yu Ki (容宇琦) said I should remove my wisdom teeth on the upper right, and I trust him; However, after spending around 1 hour, he failed to completely remove my tooth, only pulled half of the teeth, and the root tip is left behind, then he said I should go home and let that heal; In the past few days, I cannot sleep well, feels painful while chewing the foods and moving the jaw, keep thinking what I should do; After 2 days, Dr. Yung Yu Ki still cannot give me the advice on how to remove the root tip left behind, and said nothing he can do and trying to refer me to see their specialist Dr. Ben K C Chow (周烱昌), however their specialist can cost a fortune, they are asking me HK$8000 for removing one wisdom teeth now, I think this is a fraud.

So PLEASE, for your safely, do NOT and NEVER go to Bayley & Jackson Dental Surgeons!
Busy Des Voeux Road Central in the heart of Hong Kong's business district should be transformed into a bus-free zone so that pedestrians and office workers can breathe cleaner air, the Institute of Planners has suggested to the government.

The vision was laid out in a joint study by the institute, City University, the Civic Exchange think tank and the MVA Hong Kong transport and planning consultancy firm.

Under their plan, the 1.5-kilometre section of Des Voeux Road Central, stretching from Pedder Street to Morrison Street, would be closed to all vehicles except necessary traffic such as banks' security vans, delivery vans and emergency vehicles.

Bus routes would be diverted to Connaught Road and nearby streets so that the tram would become the only form of public transport allowed along Des Voeux Road Central.
Halo is a simple, yet technologically advanced solution for cutting the inefficiency of business cards and the vast amount of paper waste they produce each year. Using Bluetooth technology, the digital card makes it possible for users to trade cards in one simple selection on the touch-sensitive screen. The transferred “card” can even have its own unique style, just like a regular paper card. There’s also money to be saved in the long run as the user no longer has to purchase replacement cards!
Ok so you drive into the public parking lot and keep circling around to find an empty spot. Cut, rewind and refresh! So you are back at the parking lot, only this time the ticket stub prints out the exact next available parking with a color-coded block, indicating the precise location for you. How cool is that! You not only save time in finding a spot, you also can find your way back to the car without a hitch. Awesome!

With widespread protesting and rioting on the rise, it’s no wonder that concepts like this have become a more popular design subject. Disperse is a system of transportable triangular units that can be arranged in combination to create a series of honeycomb paths that rioters must weave through to reach the destination on the other side. Like the name suggests, the aim is to disperse the mass of people into manageable numbers that law enforcement can safely contend with.

Designer Hsu Sean also hopes that the system would also calm rioters progressively as they worked their way to the other side. It might be wishful thinking, but it’s an interesting concept nonetheless!
This is probably why we have independent gadgets now vying for integration with features of mainstream products. Can your tablet take good pictures; is your cellphone smart like a computer; can your MP3 player shoot videos? Not only are we duplicating applications, we are also diluting the individuality of a device. I’m not going to judge on the technology wastage here, instead I’ll update you on concepts like the Lifebook. An idea that integrates a tablet, camera, phone and music player to collectively form the hardware for a laptop! They all work independently to support their unique identity and yet unify to create a magical device.

The proposed Lifebook is a laptop computer concept based on the principle of “shared hardware”. Currently a lot of hardware is wasted when we use separate devices, as there is often a lot of “repeat” of data stored and features. For example if I have my songs on my music player, why do I have to block the same amount of storage on my laptop? Similarly, if I have a processor sitting in my tablet, why can it not also run/assist my laptop? If I have a fully functional camera with its own memory and image processing power, why do I need to have it repeated in my laptop?

Braille Electric Plug Tags are Velcro fastening labels that identify a plug using Braille, embossed icon and English abbreviation of products. The concept is backed by the research that many independent visually impaired folks find it difficult to identify their appliance/gadget plugs, especially when many of them are hooked on a multi-socket power board. Clever and easily reusable, the concept is good for regular folks too.

Braille Electric Plug Tags is a 2011 red dot design concept winner.
Based on the theory that microwave poses a greater health risk to pregnant women, children and the silver generation; Proinjector has been designed to project a realtime image of how the food is cooking onto a wall. The cooking can be monitored from afar without risking unnecessary exposure. Basically keeping an eye from a distance; smart!
So, you and the family is going on this big vacation and just as you finish locking up everything and shut the main door, your wife calls out – hon, did you check the gas and switch-off all the lights? Sounds familiar? How about if you had the ‘Off’ installed! It is a door handle with connections to your mains like gas supply and electricity. Simply switch off both or either one of the services by rotating the dial and flip it back to activate it all. Super cool and innovative I tell ya!

The Urban Hotel is a very well thought-out solar-powered ‘green’ hotel. It features rainwater recycling system and a bicycle in each room, to help visitors explore the city. Now the cool thing here is that there is a specific slot in the room to place the bike and you can use it as an exercise cycle. Stored kinetic energy from it gets converted to electricity and helps power small gadgets and lights. If you get enthusiastic enough, for all you know, you could end up renting the room for free! Apparently all your pedaled miles get converted to energy savings and can be redeemed against the room rent. Sweet!

One of the biggest fears while evacuating a sinking ship is the possibility of survivors being carried away by the tide, and people getting lost at sea. The Network Tube is a rescue tube with magnetic properties and aims to form a floating cluster, bringing people together via GPS. When people huddle together, they not only boost each other’s morale, but they also increase their chances of survival.

Although we are heading towards winter, let’s not forget the folks from Down Under who are gearing up for their summers. I think escape from heat and reality should be more than just Kool Aid and popsicles; it should be funky like the Water Wave Air Conditioner. It features ambient lighting with moods like stars and water, matching sound effects and cool breezy air to lower your temperature. Now that’s what soothing summers should be like!

Do we really need the tablet and the smartphone to be two different entities? If you ask these trio designers their answer is no! The Part is the coexistence of a smartphone and a tablet as one whole device. You can remove the phone for individual use, however together they tango even better!

We have it on good authority that the technicolor phones on show are conceptual devices produced by the two companies. You shouldn't, therefore, go jumping to conclusions about retai...l hardware just yet, but hearts should be warmed by the familiarity of Nokia's new design -- the shape of these handsets is somewhere between its recent N8 and C7 Symbian devices and there is, as usual for Nokia, a choice of sprightly colors. The trio of keys adorning the new concept's bottom give away its Windows Phone 7 ties, but also remind us that the N8 and E7 are highly unlikely to receive any WP7 upgrade love. The best part about this whole discovery, however, might be that it confirms Steve Ballmer's assertion that the engineers of both companies have "spent a lot of time on this already."

BY www.fungfung.net | Watch my videos at DaxFC.com
852hkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08719484392543662526noreply@blogger.com0
